This plate or cup salver has as its central motif the engraved Portuguese royal arms, sharing the inscription VIVAT IOANNES V[Viva João V], which celebrates the founding king of the most important glassmaking manufacture in the first half of the 18th century. The ornamentation, fine vine branches and engraved bunches of grapes, follows the naturalistic taste prevailing in this manufacturing unit and its chronological period, the Baroque.
