The Matosinhos Jazz Orchestra presents the concert Uma Viagem Pelos Tempos do Jazz in the MNSR Auditorium, with a repertoire that marked the trajectory of big bands, between 1925 and 1960. The musicians visit, live, key pieces from the orchestras of Fletcher Henderson, Jimmie Lunceford, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Woody Herman or Gerry Mulligan and also renowned arrangers, composers and orchestra leaders from that period.
The show is part of the programming of the Tempos Cruzados Festival, which brings together in partnership the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, through the MNSR, and the Municipalities of Caminha, Chaves and Vila Nova de Gaia. It is a networked cultural programming initiative, financed by NORTE 2020, in the context of support from Portugal 2020 and the European Regional Development Fund.
